About
A little bit about me: I was born in Canada, but raised overseas. My love for travel has definitely influenced my photography and how I see the world.
I’ve been practicing yoga for over a decade, and can’t imagine my life without it.
My husband and I are the parents of three wonderful little children. I am grateful for the transformative experiences of pregnancy & birth.
Aside from portraits – I also have a strong interest in night, low light, and abstract photography.
I have a BFA in Studio Arts, specializing in Photography from The University of Western Ontario. The darkroom was my second home back in those days, and I loved every minute of it. More recently, I’ve furthered my education through the photography program at SAIT, in Calgary.
Capturing the essence of someone or something – this is what motivates me to keep taking pictures. Sometimes I have a specific vision that I want to bring to life through a still image – other times, it may present itself spontaneously during the process of shooting. It is this element of passion mixed with the unknown that allows me to remain continuously interested in my work.

Frequently Asked Questions
Photographs are meant to be viewed beyond the computer screen. There is so much more impact when you pick up a photo album off your coffee table and flip through the pages, or walk into a room and see a stunning framed image on the wall. In our digital age, we have become accustomed to primarily looking at photos on our phones and computers. While there is certainly a place for this, I truly believe that people enjoy their photographs the most when they are more tactile. Photographs also become more integrated into your life when they are enlarged and hanging on your wall. They become an heirloom that can be passed down to younger members of your family. I have personally seen the excitement in my own children’s faces when they take one of our photo albums off the shelf and turn the pages. They ask me questions about certain images and want to know more – in a way that they don’t when they are quickly swiping and scrolling through the photos on my phone.
Yes, of course! Full resolution digital files can be purchased for $79.00 each, and can be added onto customized packages. I understand that everyone’s needs are unique, and there will be instances, particularly outside of a traditional portrait package, where digital files are necessary or preferred. Full resolution files come with personal printing rights only, unless otherwise specified.
Simply put: quality control. I have established a relationship with a professional photographic lab and I know the high quality results that come with them. When you order your prints through me instead of a consumer-grade lab, you can rest assured that your photographs will look their best.
While I am focused within the north and west ares of the city, I am available to work anywhere within Calgary and the surrounding areas! Additional fees for time & travel outside the city of Calgary apply.
No, at this time, I do not have an indoor studio. Most sessions are done outdoors or indoors at a mutually agreed upon venue prior to the session. Whenever possible, natural light is used. If you have a favourite spot you’d like to use for a portrait session, that’s great! And if not, I have a few favourites I can suggest, and I am always scouting out new locations as well.
A complimentary email, phone, or in-person consultation is included for first-time clients. This is where we find out more about one another and see if our visions align! If you have a list of specific product shots you are needing for your website, for example – this is where we sort through all those fine details so that nothing is overlooked on the day of the shoot. For portrait sessions, I will give you tips on what to wear, etc.
My approach is more towards a candid style for portrait sessions. However, I do mix in some posed shots, and I will help queue you when necessary.
Yes. All sessions require a $200.00 non-refundable session fee at the time of booking. Payment is accepted by credit card. This fee reserves time in my calendar exclusively for your photo shoot. Of course, sometimes life happens- and in the case of an unexpected illness or emergency for either party, 48 hours notice of cancellation is preferred. We will work together to reschedule the session for another date in the near future.
The remaining balance owing is due on the day of the photo shoot.
You will receive a link and password to your private, online viewing gallery approximately 10 days after the shoot. This gallery will include the lightly -edited proofs from our shoot. You can expect around 40+ proofs ( depending on the length and scope of the individual shoot). Proof images are watermarked.
The next step is for you to decide on your favourite images from the proof gallery before the gallery expiration date. Client viewing galleries expire approximately 1 week after they are sent to the client. Once you have given me your favourites (quantity determined by the package you have purchased), I will then polish the edits on the final chosen images, and order any albums, prints and canvases that are part of your order/package. In the meantime, I will also send you the final chosen images in web sized versions so you can share them on social media. These web sized versions will retain a watermark. If you have purchased high resolution files of any images, these will also be sent to you at this time. Full resolution files are not watermarked and include personal printing rights only.
Because I use a separate lab for printing your albums and canvases, you can expect them to arrive approximately three weeks after I place the order. I will keep you updated on any changes or delays in that timeframe if they do come up.
